2017 High School Science Bowl results
Congratulations to the 37 teams that competed in the 2017 Minnesota High School Bowl on January 21, 2017, at Macalester College. After a round robin tournament whittled the teams down to 16, a double-elimination competition resulted in the Edina #1 returning champions repeating as winners who will go on to the National Science Bowl in D.C., beating out Wayzata #3 — a very tough team of freshmans and sophomores.
The third-place team was Edina #2.
Another big winner was Chanhassen #2, which was selected in a vote of all students for the Civility Award, as the nicest team to compete with.
Maple Grove fielded a team for the first time.
Albany #1 was again most uniquely dressed.
We thank the great group of volunteers from STEM companies and academic programs around Minnesota — without them we wouldn't be able to allow so many teams to compete.
And we have a great group of sponsors that makes these programs possible.
