We were excited to welcome back our Science Salon program in 2022! Our December 8 virtual Science Salon will feature Brett Arenz, Director of the Plant Disease Clinic at the University of Minnesota. We learned about current topics in Plant Pathology and diagnosing plant diseases, and had the opportunity to pose questions to the expert!
Brett Arenz serves as the director of the Plant Disease Clinic at the University of Minnesota. The clinic diagnoses thousands of samples per year submitted by homeowners, government agencies, and private industries in horticulture, landscaping, forestry, and agriculture. It also serves a vital function in protecting national food biosecurity by acting as the sole surveillance clinic representing Minnesota in the National Plant Diagnostic Network. He also also teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in the department including, Plague, Famine and Beer, Insects, Microbes and Plants, Principles of Plant Pathology, Introduction to Fungal Biology, and Field Plant Pathology.
