Our Science Salon at the Trylon Theater on Saturday, September 30th was a unique opportunity to learn about the science of special effects for film.
We discovered cinematic illusions with Christian Hanson, a simulation engineer from Mayo Clinic's Anatomic Modeling Unit, as he unveiled the realm of advanced 3D printing. He also told us about his transition story from film special effects to medical simulation engineering. Following the presentation, attendees watched Roger Corman's classic 'A Bucket of Blood' (1959, 66min), where artist Dick Miller achieves fame through his unconventional sculpting methods.
Proceeds from ticket sales support our programs to bring STEM learning to Minnesota students.
