FORSE

I couldn’t believe I was going to be mentored by an actual scientist. I don’t think I’ve even ever met an actual scientist. My mentor taught me so much. I would have an idea and not be totally sure how to do it and they would just start showing me how to make it by writing a computer program or going to a lab. This was stuff that I thought was so hard but they showed me that I could do it mostly on my own if I wanted to learn, ask questions, and or ask for help.”

Mateo Ramirez, 11th grade ESI student intern St. Paul, MN

Seeing all those smart kids restores my faith in the future.

Kelly Coleman, Medtronic

My favorite part of the Science Bowl was observing the mental process of the kids as they came up with answers.

Claudia Zierold, DiaSorin

I am now driven to be the mentor that I never had, supporting underrepresented students in the process of scientific discovery.

Mounica Kota, FORSE mentor

Teachers

I feel privileged that students come to me with their ideas and I get to teach them to take an idea from their mind and apply it to the real world.
