North central region Junior Science & Humanities Symposium

This regional STEM research paper competition for high school students was held in conjunction with the State Science & Engineering Fair. Up to 80 high school students from Minnesota and the Dakotas presented their STEM research to peers and STEM professionals through oral presentations. Finalists advanced to the National Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS). MAS hosted this program for 54 years but announced that we will no longer host JSHS as of September 2022. Learn more about the JSHS competition and the history and impact of the program.

The Journal of the Minnesota Academy of Science featured original research, scholarly papers, and abstracts from MAS research symposia. It was launched as an e-journal in 2012. The Minnesota Academy of Science Journal of Student Research (MASJSR) gave high school and college students an opportunity to have their research published online.
