Registration Process
All undergraduates from Minnesota and surrounding states engaged in original research are welcome to present their work.
Each attendee must register individually. The system cannot process mass registrations from institutions.
You must complete all registration questions in one sitting, as the system does not save work in progress, only completed applications. See below for a list of registration questions.
Student Presenters: Be sure to have the following information ready when you register.
your project title, authors, and abstract (required! 250 words max.)
your advisor's name and email address
for members of joint projects, make sure to use the same Project Title, Project Abstract and Project Authors exactly
Scholarship / Payment Options for Students
Students have four payment options to select from when registering. Please check with your advisor to see if your department or the American Chemical Society (presenters only) will pay your fee. If neither your institution nor ACS is paying your fee, you may qualify for a scholarship from the Minnesota Academy of Science if you attend a community college and/or are eligible for a Pell Grant; otherwise please be prepared to pay the fee yourself when you register. You will submit your abstract as part of the registration process.
Student registration options:
Indicate that your institution is paying your registration fee.
Be sure to verify this in advance! When you register you must provide the name, title, and email address of the person who approved payment so that MAS can send them an invoice.
Indicate that you would like to receive a scholarship from the Minnesota Academy of Science if you attend a community college and/or are eligible for a Pell Grant and are not supported by your institution or by an ACS scholarship.
Pay the registration fee yourself during the registration process.
For student presenters only: Indicate that you would like to receive a scholarship from the Minnesota Local Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS).
In order for ACS to pay your fee, you must meet the following criteria. (Ask your advisor if you are unsure.)
You and/or your advisor is a member of ACS.
Your research is in chemistry or biochemistry.
You are among the first seven students to register from your institution.
You attend an institution within the boundaries of the MN Section of ACS. SEE LIST OF SCHOOLS.
BE SURE TO SELECT THE CORRECT PAYMENT OPTION DURING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS SO THAT WE CAN COLLECT THE RIGHT INFORMATION FROM YOU AND BILL THE CORRECT INSTITUTION.
